WHATTON HOUSE PRESENTS

A YULETIDE TALE

Come with us on a festive journey through myth and mystery –
to unearth the origins of Midwinter Magic.

From the fiery dawn of humanity to the fairy lights of today’s family Christmas, people have seen midwinter as a special time. Legendary characters populate this enchanting world.

Meet the mischievous Lord of Misrule as he ventures through time to reveal The Holly King, the first St Nicholas, Krampus – and more. And just who were the winterland women – Frau Holda and Le Befana?

When they made their lists – and checked them twice – what was in store for who was naughty or nice? You’ll be amazed!

It’s eye-popping, it’s time-hopping. It’s the most wonderful time of the year – and yet mystery and myth lie in its enchanted corners. Midwinter has always meant more than turkey and tinsel, presents and pud.

This is a specially created Yuletide event for all the family exclusively at Whatton House – and it’s like no other seasonal event in the UK this year.

Following in the footsteps of last year’s acclaimed “Winter’s Trail – A Christmas Carol”, it’s another delightful opportunity to get into the Christmas Spirit. A 30 minute interactive experience, with plenty of Festive fun and fayre on offer for all the family.

Come with us on our journey to a Wintery world where magic is waiting to be found!

FAQs

Children are welcome to come in fancy dress!

What should I wear?

Bring appropriate clothing & footwear – the route is outside and potentially walking through the woods/on uneven pathways. If there has been a lot of rain it can get quite muddy, and December nights will be quite cold.

Is it for children?

Our event is family friendly, all children are very welcome although we would recommend it more suited to 6yrs and over to understand the story round the trail. Younger children can of course still enjoy the experience. All tickets are the same price however children 18 months and under are free of charge.

What size group can I bring?

You will travel around the trails in a group of 8-12 people.  We limit group size to maximise the experience for each member of the party.
